Ocala, FL – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual who stole a security camera from a home under construction. The incident occurred in the 6900 block of SW 149th Lane Road, and the stolen camera is estimated to be worth around $355.00.
The construction company responsible for the site had installed a security camera to monitor the property. However, during a routine review of the surveillance footage, it was discovered that the perpetrator stole the camera and brazenly filmed himself in the act. The irony of the situation is evident – the very camera meant to enhance security ultimately played a pivotal role in identifying the thief.
Law enforcement is now turning to the community for assistance in identifying the individual in the photo released by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. If you recognize the suspect or have any information regarding his identity, please get in touch with the Sheriff’s Office at 352-732-9111.
