Akron, OH – The Akron Police Department is urgently seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a felonious assault that occurred on Thursday, January 25, 2024. The incident unfolded at the Gas & Save located in the 800 block of W. Exchange Street, where the suspect entered and stole a tip jar from the counter.
The situation took a dangerous turn when an employee of the store followed the suspect down Delia Avenue for a few blocks. The suspect, described as a black male with a medium complexion and a slight mustache, aged approximately 20-25 years old, turned violent and shot the pursuing employee. Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene on foot.
Law enforcement officials actively seek any information about the suspect or details regarding this crime. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and the public is strongly advised not to approach him. Instead, individuals who may have information or may spot the suspect are urged to contact the Akron Police Detective Bureau at 330-375-2490, the APD Tip Line at 330-375-2TIP, or the Summit County Crimestoppers, Inc. at 330-434-COPS (2677).
