Renton, WA – The Renton Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance in an ongoing investigation into a drive-by shooting incident that occurred on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at approximately 9:37 p.m. in the 200 block of Hardie Ave NW.
According to detectives, a young man was shot during the drive-by shooting, and authorities believe that the black 4-door sedan captured in surveillance footage may belong to the suspects involved in the crime. While not optimal quality, the video provides crucial evidence for the investigation.
The victim, who survived the shooting, reported that there were at least three individuals inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. Furthermore, officers recovered a staggering total of 17 shell casings at the scene, indicating the severity and recklessness of the attack.
To gather more information and potentially identify the perpetrators, law enforcement officials are urging residents and businesses in the area to review their surveillance footage from the night of Thursday, January 18th, between 9:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Any additional footage or leads could significantly aid in the investigation.
