Bethesda, Montgomery County, Maryland – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police- Major Crimes Division are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery that occurred on Sunday, February 4, 2024. The incident happened at Chipotle, located in the 7600 block of Old Georgetown Rd.
Incident Details: According to the preliminary investigation, at approximately 9:15 p.m., the suspect entered the restaurant and placed an order. Subsequently, he reached into his backpack, brandished a handgun, and demanded the employee empty the cash register. However, the cashier managed to flee and notify the police. Undeterred, the suspect then attempted to open the register himself without success.
Upon encountering a second employee, the suspect again displayed the handgun and demanded access to the register. The employee complied, and the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene.
The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 20-25 years old, standing between 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, and 8 inches tall.
