Oh, what a day to be alive in this technicolor world of morals turned gray! Picture this: an enterprising gentleman, instead of indulging in the usual retail therapy, decided to embrace the five-finger discount at our beloved local hardware store. Craftsmanship has truly taken a new form, as he artfully pocketed merchandise and made a swift exit, like a magician without the top hat – and the applause.

The master of stealth, this not-so-mysterious Mister must’ve thought he was blending right in with the cans of matte paint, for he fled the scene in a pickup truck so matte black, it would make the night jealous. And how could we overlook his fashion statement? He’s adorned his left hand with a tattoo—a permanent accessory to match his temporary acquisitions.
Â
Here’s the plot twist though: our local superheroes — and I mean the police, not the guy in tights you see in the movies — especially Detective Bledsoe, are hot on his not-so-invisible trail. So, if you, yes YOU, dear reader, have any inkling, any mere suspicion, or unprecedented enlightenment about who our anonymous acquisitioner might be, don’t hesitate to send a raven or an email to brian.bledsoe@mansfieldtexas. gov. Your input could put the ‘cuff’ in ‘handcuffs’ for this artistic appropriator.Â

Remember: Being the eyes and ears of justice might not get you a cape, but it’s certainly a step up from being an accidental accomplice to our tale’s too-bold borrower. Be a hero, send that tip, and let’s give our friend with the permanent ink a more permanent residence, courtesy of the state.
