Ocala, FL – Law enforcement in Ocala is appealing to the community for assistance in identifying two individuals involved in a vehicle burglary at Coehadjoe Park on NE 35th Street. The incident occurred on December 28, 2023, at approximately noon.
According to reports from the Ocala Police Department, the suspects forcibly entered the victim’s vehicle while it was parked at the park. The stolen items were the victim’s driver’s license, bank card, social security card, and other personal belongings. The victim reported witnessing the suspects fleeing the scene in a silver Hyundai Santa Fe with a temporary tag attached.
Following the burglary, the victim discovered an attempted transaction of $209.61 at the Walmart on East Silver Springs Boulevard. Detective Melvin Coates, who leads the investigation into the property crimes, obtained photos of the two suspects attempting to use the victim’s card at Walmart. The transaction was declined, prompting the suspects to leave the store.
Law enforcement officials now turn to the public for assistance in identifying these individuals. Anyone with information that could aid their identification is urged to contact the Ocala Police Department at 352-732-9111.
