Memphis, TN – The Memphis Police Department is seeking help identifying three suspects involved in a motor vehicle theft incident at the Exxon gas station at 6455 Shelby Drive on January 20, 2024.
According to the police report filed under #2401026463ME, officers responded to the Exxon station at 5:40 a.m. after receiving a notice of a stolen vehicle. The victim, who was inside the business then, reported that three individuals had stolen their 2016 Chevrolet Aveo bearing Mississippi tags.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the stolen vehicle was later discovered in the parking lot of the Classic Inn at 5119 American Way. Surveillance footage from the scene captured three male suspects exiting the car and entering one of the motel rooms.
The suspects are described as follows:
- Suspect #1: A male, possibly black with a light complexion, Hispanic, or biracial, wearing a gray skull cap, red coat, black Reebok hoodie, and black pants.
- Suspect #2: A Black male with a dark complexion wearing a black skull cap, black coat, camouflaged hoodie, and black pants; he possibly has a short dreadlock hairstyle.
- Suspect #3: A Black male with a dark complexion wearing dark-colored coveralls; the suspect had a small dog in his possession.
The Memphis Police Department urges anyone with information regarding this incident or the suspects’ identities to come forward. Individuals who may have seen or interacted with the suspects around the time of the theft are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH. Tipsters will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.
