Langley Park, MD – The Homicide Unit detectives have released video footage of two individuals of interest in the tragic murder case of two-year-old Jeremy Poou-Caceres in Langley Park last week. Authorities are urging the community to come forward with any information that could aid in identifying and locating these two males captured in the video.

On February 7, 2024, around 9:45 pm, surveillance footage shows one of the persons of interest exiting a 2003 gold Ford Explorer and entering a convenience store in the 9200 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring. The second individual is observed standing at the store’s counter. The Ford Explorer used by the suspects was carjacked earlier that morning in the 1500 block of Kanawha Street in Langley Park and was subsequently used as the getaway vehicle after the tragic incident. The vehicle has since been recovered.

The Homicide Unit has already apprehended two individuals in connection with Jeremy’s murder: 33-year-old Israel Fuentes, Jr., of Lewisdale, and 28-year-old Johnny Alejandro Turcios of Lewisdale. The preliminary investigation suggests that Fuentes and Turcios were involved in a group that exchanged gunfire with another group on the evening of the incident, near where the victim and his mother were walking. The gunfire also injured Jeremy’s mother, though her injuries were not life-threatening. It appears that both victims were unintended targets and were struck by stray bullets.

Detectives are actively pursuing leads to identify and arrest all individuals involved in this tragic shooting. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspects.

Anyone with information regarding the identities of the two individuals of interest is urged to contact the Homicide Unit at 301-516-2512.
