Incident Details: The incident occurred in Worksop town center between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2024. According to reports, a man approached the victims in the street and asked where they were from. It is alleged that the man racially abused them shortly after. When challenged by the women over his remarks, he walked off down Central Avenue.
Appeal for Information: PC George Long stated, “Both women were understandably distressed over this incident. Nottinghamshire Police takes any hate report very seriously, and we are committed to working with our partners to stamp it out.” He added, “Hate crime has a devastating impact on individual victims and targeted communities, and our firm commitment is to tackle bias, racism, and discrimination wherever we find it.”
