The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 28, when a residence in Wilsonton was broken into, and keys for a taxi parked there were stolen.
The stolen vehicle, a Toyota Hiace Taxi, was subsequently driven around Toowoomba before being abandoned on MacArthur Street, South Toowoomba, around 9:00 am. Detectives have released surveillance footage from the taxi and are urging anyone with further information to come forward and contact the police.
