Dallas, TX – The Dallas Police Department is reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying the suspect(s) involved in a tragic homicide that occurred on Scyene Road. The incident occurred on December 27, 2023, at approximately 9:15 a.m., prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the Dallas Police, officers were summoned to the 9500 block of Scyene Road following reports of a shooting. The investigation revealed that four unidentified suspects disembarked from a vehicle and proceeded to open fire on three men at the location.
Tragically, 22-year-old Jamarcus Irving and 51-year-old Morland Smith were struck by gunfire during the incident. Dallas Fire-Rescue promptly arrived at the scene, but unfortunately, Irving succumbed to his injuries on-site. Smith, critically injured, was rushed to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds. The condition of the third victim remains uncertain, as it is yet to be determined if they were affected by the gunfire. The unidentified individual left the scene and remains at large.
